Apple Loft cottage is a converted stone barn sleeping two people and is attached to the owners charming 17th century Grade II listed Devon long house. It is situated to the south of the Dartmoor National Park in the beautiful Dart valley within four acres of gardens and meadow, with the River Dart and South Devon Railway running behind the property.

Furnished with flair, it is a welcoming property offering very comfortable, quality accommodation for those wishing to get away from the pressures of everyday life.

Whilst set in a quiet rural location, Apple Loft cottage is just minutes from the A38 and one mile from the quaint town of Buckfastleigh.

Ashburton, known as the "The Gateway to the Moor" is only three miles away, and the Elizabethan town of Totnes with its' wonderful shops and eating places just five.

With the cottage being located mid-way between the cities of Exeter and Plymouth, this is an ideal base from which to explore both the Dartmoor National Park and the South Hams area of Devon.

Apple Loft cottage is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the delights of the Devon country side at anytime of the year.

Out and About

There is so much to see locally and here are a few suggestions of places to visit:

• Dartmoor National Park -
  Dartmoor National Park is the largest area of open country in England covering some 368 square miles. It is an exceptionally beautiful place to visit at any time of the year, with wide expanses of open moorland, wooded gorges and tumbling rocky rivers.
• Buckfast Abbey -
  A modern Benedictine Abbey with wonderful stained glass windows and gardens.
• South Devon Railway -
  Relax and enjoy the unspoilt views of the river Dart from the comfort of a South Devon Railway, steam or vintage diesel train from Buckfastleigh to Totnes
• Ashburton -
  A very attractive Stannary town dating from Saxon times. It has a good selection of antique and craft outlets, together with many interesting shops
• Totnes -
  An Elizabethan market town with lots of interesting shops and eating places and the ruins of a Norman castle. From the quay take a relaxing boat trip to Dartmouth.
• Dartmouth -
  Just a 40 minute drive away, Dartmouth is an attractive town full of narrow streets, art galleries, delicatessens and other interesting shops. It is home to the famous Britannia Royal Naval College.
• Salcombe -
  A very picturesque sailing resort with a wealth of quality shops and places to eat. It has a natural harbour and two sheltered sandy beaches with excellent views across the estuary. Nearby are Soar Mill Cove and Hope Cove which offer great walks along the southwest coastal path.
