The Apartment

'Nautilus' is a stunning and award winning creation designed by Guy Greenfield.

The design maximises the natural light with a curved copper roofline resting on frameless glass windows.

An ideal location for exploring this part of the coastline with wonderful walks and scenery, and many attractions including Clovelly, Bucks Mills and Hartland Abbey within a short drive. Popular activities here are surfing, kite surfing, walking, cycling and, for keen golfers, the Royal North Devon golf course is only a mile away.

The Location

The town's name comes from the title of Charles Kingsley's novel Westward Ho! written in the mid 1800s. The exclamation mark is therefore an intentional part of the town's name.

It is the only such place name in the British Isles, although Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Quebec shares the
distinction of having an exclamation mark in its name.

It has two miles of sandy beach known as the Golden Bay, and is famous for its Pebble Ridge, which lies between the beach and Northam Burrows Country Park.

Here you will find the Royal North Devon Golf Course and a large area
of sand dunes home to a rich variety of birds, insects and wild flowers.

Horses, cattle and sheep graze on the Burrows as they did on common land in days gone by. Holidaymakers and locals alike enjoy bathing, surfing, canoeing, and kite surfing - just a few of the sports practised here.

The South Western Coastal Path runs through Westward Ho! and the Tarka Trail is
close by - a must for cyclists and walkers.
