Dartmouth Castle is a splendid English Heritage owned coastal defence.

Built in 1481, Dartmouth Castle featured many state-of-the-art defences and was the first Castle in the country to be constructed specifically for artillery.

Standing majestically on the edge of the entrance to the Dart Estuary the Castle was built to protect Dartmouth harbour from foreign invasion

With fabulous views of the Dart Estuary and surrounding area Dartmouth Castle is a fabulous place to visit.
