The railway was opened in 1898 and closed in 1935.  It was built to a gauge of 1ft 11½in (600mm), and ran for 19 miles between Lynton and Barnstaple.  It is now owned by a Charitable Trust and is run "not for profit", with most of the key roles undertaken by volunteers.  So far one mile of track has been reopened.

Currently trains only operate between Woody Bay Station and Killington Lane Halt.

    Family (2 adults and up to 3 children) - £18
    Senior Citizens (Over 65) - £5.00

    1st Class Upgrade £2.00 Return (per person)
    *Children under 5 accompanied by fare-paying adults travel FREE
