The National Marine Aquarium is one of the UK's largest aquariums and the first to be built solely for the purpose of education, conservation and research.
Visitors
to the aquarium will enjoy the many fascinating exhibits aimed at educating
people about the conservation of marine life.
With
hundreds of marine species for visitors to see, a walk through underwatertunnel
and Europe's deepest tank there is certainly something to see and do for
all the family.
One of the National Marine Aquarium's major projects is Scylla Reef, a tremendous outreach project which involved the placing of a decommissioned Naval friggate on the sea bed off Whitsand Bay inorder to create a habitat for marine life. Scylla itself has become a great place for leisure diving, research and education. Visitors can find out more about Scylla at the aqaurium.
