Shaldon zoo offers a perfect place to visit for young and old alike. Set in around one acre of enclosed woodland the Trust is home to a unique collection of some of the world's most endangered animals, many of which are not found in larger zoos. See the colourful manes and striking features of our marmosets and tamarins from South America including our pygmy marmosets, the smallest monkey in the world. Admire our beautiful ocelot cats and see close up our four groups of lemurs, unique to the island of Madagascar. Enjoy watching the escapades of our inquisitive meerkats and intelligent and mischievous yellow-breasted capuchins which are now one of the world's top 25 most endangered primates. Our "bug room" houses our collection of reptiles and creepy crawlies, spot our free-roaming geckos. Here in our lovely woodland setting you will also find owls and agoutis living in close proximity to kookaburras and Madagascan giant jumping rats. After your visit you can always go down the Smuggler's
tunnel which leads to the secluded Ness Cove beach.
