“This is a lovely five star place to stay….”

Broadhayes is a comfortably luxurious house with landscaped gardens and spectacular views, situated on the edge of a sleepy rural village. The house is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are spacious and stylish. The breakfasts are delicious, the hospitality outstanding.

Broadhayes is in the centre of glorious South Devon, and is perfectly placed for touring and holidays. It’s easily accessible, just ten minutes from the A38, but feels deliciously remote. Dartmoor, rivers, the beaches and cliffs of the coast, historic towns and visitor attractions are all within easy reach.

For the business traveller, Broadhayes is an ideal base, situated between Plymouth and Exeter, and with Newton Abbot and Totnes railway stations nearby. Exeter and Plymouth airports are 30 minutes drive.

The house has free wi-fi, plenty of space to work and play, flexible times for breakfast and a two excellent dining pubs in easy walking distance, with top class restaurants just a short drive away.

A stay at Broadhayes guarantees a feeling of warmth and well-being, whether you stay for one night or seven.

"Couldn’t ask for a better place to recharge the batteries….”

Seven reasons to stay with us at Broadhayes this year. . .

  • it's a lovely house in an unspoilt, quiet village
  • we have spectacular views, starlit skies, birdsong and peace
  • you can really relax and receive genuine warm hospitality
  • there are two excellent village pubs just a stroll away
  • our lovely terraces and gardens are yours to enjoy
  • the coast, Dartmoor, cities and entertainment are all nearby
  • our stylish bedrooms all have their own luxury bath or shower

Explore . . .

... the best the area has to offer, including the wilds of Dartmoor, the beautiful coast and beaches, Totnes, Exeter and Dartmouth, and a wealth of attractions, restaurants and pubs to suit everyone, even steam train enthusiasts and Agatha Christie fans!

Or just relax and enjoy . . .

...our village and its peaceful tranquility, the garden terraces and orchard, the wonderful views and beautiful sunsets, and the starlit skies on your stroll back from the pub.

But remember to leave room for breakfast . . .

We are renowned for our breakfasts - not only because of the magnificent view from the dining room, but also for the delicious fresh fruit and compotes, homemade breads and preserves, eggs from our own hens, locally made sausages and even our home-grown tomatoes in summer. I'm delighted to provide special diets or particular favourites - just let me know when you book.

We love children and animals too . . .

...but ask parents and guardians to remember this is the countryside, with things that sting and bite, trees to climb but also fall out of, and high walls to scramble around and tumble off. We have two dogs of our own, who are friendly to guests, human and canine. We just ask dog owners to remember the usual rules about clearing up after your pets and not allowing them to rampage through the flower beds in their excitement at being in such a special part of Devon.

Sounds too good to be true?

It isn't, as the Roy family, who came all the way from Calcutta in India to stay with us for a week in October, told us in our visitors book:

  • 'Awesome rooms and food.' Judy Roy, aged 12
  • 'I loved it here. I really want to come back again.' June Roy, aged 12
  • 'Jane and John really made our first family holiday in England ultra special.' Nila Roy
  • 'A house turns into a home with such love and affection. We were so much at home.'
    Dr Purnendu Roy
