Come and stay Autumn is just around the corner, and it's no exaggeration to say that it is an exquisite time of yearin south Devon. All the way into November, the Devon countryside sings with colour - the moors, the woodlands, the rivers and the coast all take on the buttery glow of autumn days. It's a time for being out and about - strolling, walking or hiking, sitting and contemplating, travelling around, and simply marvelling at our lovely scenery. After the crowds and queues of summer, Devon relaxes into a calmer place, perfect for a break away from home. A perfect time to stay at Broadhayes." What our guests have said about us so far in 2010: "Accommodation was of the best quality,
great views, warm hospitality, lovely breakfasts, and feeding the chickens
was an added bonus for the girls!" "We've had an amazing time. Thanks so
much for looking after us, what a lovely place to stay." "Thank you for making our stay so glorious.
We've had a great time, especially the breakfast out under the wisteria."
"Thank you for sharing your little
piece of heaven with us. We will be back next year for more." "One of the best places and locations
I have spent time in. Thank you Jane and John for your hospitality."
Alan Mabey "It's been read, it's been said, we concur wholeheartedly.
Can we come back soon?" These are comments taken from our visitors book, so yes, you could think it's maybe not a true reflection because we can be choosy about what we put on our website. But we can't edit what guests say about us on laterooms.com, where we have had a 100% satisfaction rating in feedback to the site over the last two years. We knew we looked after our guests. Now you do too. Why not come and see for yourself? SEVEN REASONS TO STAY WITH US AT BROADHAYES THIS YEAR:
(There's an eighth reason, which is that some of our regulars say the village and the people in it remind them of Dibley……however, that's only in the small print.) Your comfort and relaxation are our top priority, leaving you free to discover the magic of this wonderful part of Devon. We warmly invite you to come and stay. Broadhayes is a spacious, light and comfortably stylish house with spectacular views over Devon countryside and moorland. Each of the two bedrooms have personal touches to help you enjoy your stay - bathroom luxuries, bathrobes, fresh flowers and beverage trays. Both bedrooms have doors leading out onto the garden.
Come for a relaxing break, to visit friends or enjoy a family celebration, or simply to explore this glorious part of South Devon.
EXPLORE . . . ... the best the area has to offer, including the wilds of Dartmoor, the beautiful coast and beaches, Totnes, Exeter and Dartmouth, and a wealth of attractions, restaurants and pubs to suit everyone, even steam train enthusiasts and Agatha Christie fans! OR JUST ...our village and its peaceful tranquility, the garden terraces and orchard, the wonderful views and beautiful sunsets, and the starlit skies on your stroll back from the pub. BUT REMEMBER TO LEAVE ROOM FOR BREAKFAST.... We are renowned for our breakfasts - not only because of the magnificent view from the dining room, but also for the delicious fresh fruit and compotes, homemade breads and preserves, eggs from our own hens, locally made sausages and even our home-grown tomatoes in summer. I'm delighted to provide special diets or particular favourites - just let me know when you book. WE LOVE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS TOO . . . ...but ask parents and guardians to remember this is the countryside, with things that sting and bite, trees to climb but also fall out of, and high walls to scramble around and tumble off. We have two dogs of our own, who are friendly to guests, human and canine. We just ask dog owners to remember the usual rules about clearing up after your pets and not allowing them to rampage through the flower beds in their excitement at being in such a special part of Devon. SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? It isn't, as the Roy family, who came all the way from Calcutta in India to stay with us for a week in October, told us in our visitors book:
