Can't afford luxury hotels this year? Come and be spoilt by us instead! "I spend six months of my working year staying in first class places all over the world, and Broadhayes is up there with them. Fabulous." Jane Walters - summer 2008 "We felt like kings and queens in the lovely bedrooms, wonderful bathrooms with a gorgeous breakfast and your friendly hospitality. Thank you very much." Potgieter family from Holland - summer 2008 SEVEN REASONS TO STAY WITH US AT BROADHAYES THIS YEAR:
(There's an eighth reason, which is that some of our regulars say the village and the people in it remind them of Dibley……however, that's only in the small print.) Your comfort and relaxation are our top priority, leaving you free to discover the magic of this wonderful part of Devon. We warmly invite you to come and stay. Broadhayes is a spacious, light and comfortably stylish house with spectacular views across our village of Broadhempston to Devon countryside and the wilds of Dartmoor. The house is 'upside-down' and each of the ground floor bedrooms is individually designed with your comfort in mind, with bathrobes, tea and coffee trays and radios. Each bedroom has doors leading to terraces and the gardens.
You may want a relaxing break, or to visit friends, or enjoy a family celebration. Or you may want to explore. Lucky you!
EXPLORE! There's miles of walks on moorland or along the exquisite coastline. There's shopping in historic Totnes or Dartmouth, or the cities of Exeter or Plymouth. There are National Trust treasures nearby, including Agatha Christie's former home and the spectacular castle and gardens at Castle Drogo. The River Dart and a historic steam railway are just two miles from Broadhayes, and there are numerous excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach. RELAX AND ENJOY! Whatever you decide to do, you can leave your cares behind and settle down to 'Devon time'. Wander through the village lanes, or laze on one of the terraces with a coffee and the papers. Whatever the weather, enjoy the wonderful views, described by one guest as "a holiday for the eyes". Watch the sun set over Dartmoor at tea time. Walk under starlit skies to one of the 'two pubs - no light pollution here!' and enjoy a pint in front of the fire or a traditional meal. WONDERFUL BREAKFASTS! And after a contented night's sleep, tuck into a truly scrumptious English breakfast, with fresh fruit and compotes, locally-sourced bacon and sausages, our own eggs if the hens are behaving, and home-made preserves. And take in that view once again. We are delighted to provide special diets or particular favourites, but please discuss it with us in advance. WE LOVE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS! We have two dogs and a cat, so pets by arrangement only. Children of all ages are welcome, but please be aware that we have high walls (some unfenced), trees to climb up and get stuck and nettles which sting! SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? Here's more of what our guests wrote about us in the last year: "Thank you so much - a lovely experience of real hospitality." "Lovely room, super bathroom, fabulous breakfast - a gentle ambience throughout. Wonderfully thoughtful and considerate hosts. All in all, 100% accommodation. Please may we come back?" "Better than a Ritz Carlton, such a warm welcome and food great. Many thanks." "Broadhayes is a small haven in heaven." "We have been spoilt rotten! Lovely place, lovely house, friendly people, fantastic food, crazy rugby fans." HOW TO BOOK We open again on March 1st 2009.
