A self-catering cottage on the waterfront, sleeping 6 people. Appledore is full of 'olde worlde' charm with narrow cobbled lanes of colour washed houses, fishermen's cottages and a pretty quay. There are local shops , pubs and restaurants within a few minute’s walk. The author Charles Kingsley described Appledore as the 'little white fishing village'. The village was a centre for seafaring activities from mediaeval times, and is still home to shipbuilding, fishing and a maritime museum. Facilities in Curlew Cottage: Two living rooms, three bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom:
First floor has wonderful estuary views from the living room, which has
a "real flame" gas fire, TV, video and music player. There is a master
bedroom with double bed and a small bedroom with 2'6" x 5'8" bunks, suitable
for children or small adults. Ground floor has a Lounge/dining room with
TV and original wood panelling. Dining table for six. Third bedroom with
twin beds. Well equipped kitchen/breakfast room overlooking the garden
and estuary with table and seating for six. Bathroom with over-bath shower.
People who find stairs difficult will appreciate having a bedroom, bathroom,
kitchen and lounge and dining room downstairs. Gas central heating and electricity are included, Dishwasher, Microwave, Fridge and freezer, Washing machine, Gas cooker, Over-bath shower, Bed linen provided, "Real flame" gas fire, Cot and high chair are available on request.
Tariff 2012: Prices from £360 to £790. Short breaks are usually available. Parking: You can park outside
to unload, and then park on street a few yards away or in a local car
