Welcome to Miners Retreat

Miners Retreat is a B&B with a difference - a tastefully renovated, self-contained character barn conversion, set within secluded private woodland at Hogs Tor on the outskirts of Chillaton. Guests have sole use of the property, which accommodates two people.

The Accommodation (sleeps 2)

The accommodation has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. There is a spacious double en-suite bedroom, a large living room with stone fireplace and wood-burning stove and a kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. At the front of the property is a pretty terrace with outdoor seating and a barbeque.

The Area

Miners Retreat is perfect for a rural getaway - whether you are just seeking some peace and tranquillity or prefer more active pursuits, such as walking or cycling. Hogs Tor was previously the site of a manganese mine, but is now a secluded and natural wooded hillside. You may well spot deer, foxes, badgers and numerous species of birds on the woodland trail leading from the back of the property.

Dartmoor, with it's many natural attractions and Tavistock, voted best market town in Britain in 2004, are both within 15 minutes drive. The north and south coasts of Devon are within about 40 minutes drive and there are a range of other attractions in the area.

Chillaton village pub and shop are less than five minutes walk away.
