LOCATION
The delightful village of Belstone sits at an altitude
of 1,000 feet on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Its situation makes
it the ideal base for walkers, riders and cyclists to enjoy spectacular
views, yet is within a short distance of the amenities in Okehampton.
The village pub, The Tors Inn, offers excellent home
cooked meals, a selection of real ales and an impressive list of
single malts. Other pubs and restaurants can also be found in the
neighbouring villages.
Moorlands House B&B is situated between the River
Taw and the River Okement. Their many pools offer great swimming
places in the summertime.
WALKING
Belstone is a haven for walkers. The Tarka Trial
passes through Belstone Cleave and tracks the River Taw through
a delightful wooded valley. A further selection of footpaths, just
yards from Moorlands House, give access to the high reaches of the
moor. Here the walker will find the stone circles, stone rows, burial
chambers and granite tors that make Dartmoor so special.
