Out and About on Dartmoor Dartmoor provides the perfect holiday location for lovers of the great outdoors - all year round. Designated a National Park in 1951 Dartmoor has a very special and unique 'wild' landscape, wildlife and history. There are over 400 miles of footpaths and open moorland for visitors to enjoy. There are excellent opportunities for walking, fishing, cycling, riding and climbing. Numerous historical and quaint hamlets, villages and moorland market towns provide the visitor with an extensive range of interesting shops and displays of local crafts.
