Cottage is one of five similar cottages grouped round a sunny walled courtyard.
These delightful stone cottages were built 200 years ago and have been beautifully
modernised and refurbished to offer all the facilities necessary for a comfortable
and relaxing holiday. Rose Cottage offers ample accommodation
for 6 adults. The front door of this well appointed cottage leads into the hallway,
which provides useful storage area for coats, pushchairs etc. . The hallway leads
into an attractive, timbered, open plan sitting room, which retains the original
flagstone floor. The fireplace which has been opened up to its
original form houses a traditional woodburner (coalgas) fire making a cosy atmosphere
for winter breaks. Facilities include T.V., Video recorder and Music centre as
well as a games cupboard for children of all ages! A French window leads to a
west facing garden and patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. The
dining and kitchen areas are conveniently adjacent. The latter being a fully equipped
modern kitchen again in traditional design. An enclosed staircase
leads to the first floor. The main bedroom has a double bed, dressing table and
wardrobe. The second bedroom has twin beds and also has a dressing table and wardrobe.
There is a small third bedroom with full sized bunk beds and a small wardrobe.
The bathroom is a fully fitted modern bathroom with a shower and shaver point.
The cottage has a useful private patio area and a large lawned
garden, which is ideal for small children to play in or the rest of us to relax
in. There is easy access to Fore Street where one will find all the shops, churches
and nightlife of this busy, picturesque, market town. Kingsbridge
is a busy market town located at the head of the South Hams estuary in the heart
of the beautiful South Hams, just a few miles to the south of the Dartmoor National
Park. The high street has a wide variety of shops from the fascinating 16th century
"Shambles" arcade to the ever necessary supermarket. The area is one of outstanding
natural beauty ranging from coastal cliffs to rolling hills, sandy beaches to
wild moors, tranquil estuaries to bustling towns. No matter what your tastes,
the South Hams has something to offer Facilities are extensive,
both indoor and outdoor, and include sailing, boating, fishing, golf and tennis.
Beautiful walking country is nearby on Dartmoor and on the extensive coast paths.
There are leisure centres at Kingsbridge and Ivybridge. |
