The Royal Castle has become a famous place to stay. Dating back 400 years the hotel has many links with the port of Dartmouth and the Britannia Royal Naval College. Royal visitors have included Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, famous sailors, Sir Francis Chichester and Chay Bly, and famous film stars, Cary Grant and Donald Sutherland, with the hotel being used as the set for the Agatha Christie Thriller - 'Ordeal by Innocence'.
