Stowford Lodge Self Catering Cottages are situated in the heart of rural Devon's Tarka-the-Otter country.

The accommodation is about 3 miles from the country town of Great Torrington, where shops, pubs, restaurants, a public indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, sports hall, etc can be found.

Warren Cottage (sleeps 6) Ground floor, single storey cottage, sleeps up to six. Located on the east side of the courtyard, with rear access to the orchard area from the living room and one of the bedrooms. Three bedrooms - one double and two twin bedded rooms. Living room with kitchen area, bathroom.

Halcyon Cottage (sleeps 4) Ground floor, single storey cottage, sleeps up to four. Located on the north side of the courtyard, with rear access to the orchard area from the living room. Two bedrooms - one double and one twin bedded room. Living room, separate kitchen and bathroom.

Tarquol Cottage (sleeps 4) Ground floor, single storey cottage, sleeps up to four. Located on the north side of the courtyard, with rear access to the orchard area from one of the bedrooms. Two bedrooms - one double and one twin bedded room. Living room with kitchen area, bathroom.

Old Nog Cottage (sleeps 4)Two storey cottage, sleeps up to four. Located on the east side of the courtyard, with access from the archway. Living room with kitchen area downstairs. Upstairs to two bedrooms - one double and one twin bedded room and bathroom.

TARKA THE OTTER COUNTRY

The beaches of the North Devon coast are less than half an hour's drive away and the moorland areas of Exmoor and Dartmoor are within easy reach. There are nearby facilities for golf, horse riding, sailing, fishing, shooting and cycle hire. Public transport is available in Great Torrington and the nearest main line station is Exeter.

The pictureseque and secluded location of Stowford Lodge holiday accommodation gives the perfect base for a leisurely and peaceful country self-catering holiday, with many coastal, woodland and moorland walks in the surrounding area and many local places of interest to visit. The Tarka Trail long distance foothpath and cycle way passes nearby and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor are less than two miles away.

The Tarka Trail - A 180-mile cycling and walking track passes through deep wooded valleys and riverside tracks and has some of the most attractive scenery in the region. Bicycles can be hired on the route or bring your own to Stowford where we have a garage to store them when not in use.

Less than 10 miles away, the coastline provides contrasting attractions. There are sailing, fishing and a sandy beach at Instow, surfing at Westwood Ho! And lofty cliffs and headlands along the rocky fringes of Bideford Bay. The traditional fishing village of Appledore is situated on the River Torridge, home to a picturesque harbour the village still maintains its links with shipbuilding within the privately owned Appledore Shipyards.
