ACCOMMODATION
With accommodation arranged over three floors, this
property is part of a beautifully-converted barn which overlooks
woodlands and fields, offering its visitors peace and rural tranquility.
With excellent walks and plenty of wildlife and birds to spot, Sunnybrook
is the perfect place to relax.
Lounge:
This beautifully-appointed dual-aspect room is modern in décor,
but sympathetic to the character of the building. By retaining the
original beams, and using reclaimed oak on the fireplace and stairs,
the mix of traditional and modern styles have been used very effectively.
Whilst relaxing, guests can enjoy the lovely views
over the wooded garden and the surrounding hills to the back of
the house, and there are binoculars for those who want to explore
the birdlife. To the front of the house, the pretty-walled patio
is a lovely spot in which to enjoy a late breakfast in the morning
sun, and an early evening aperitif before dinner.
Kitchen:
The fully-fitted kitchen is well appointed, with light oak units
and beautiful slate work-surfaces. It is equipped with washing machine,
microwave, fridge/freezer, blender, coffee-maker, toaster - in fact
all the comforts of home, and with beautiful views over the wooded
garden it is a lovely area in which to relax and entertain.
Bedroom 1:
The Blue Room is a spacious double-bedroom, characterized by original
beams and elegant decoration. With dual-aspect views over the patio
and wooded garden, the room is light and airy. Furnished with king-sized
bed, and stylish furniture, emphasis has been placed on style and
comfort. With soft-furnishings to compliment the décor, the
Blue Room has always been a favourite with our guests.
Bedroom 2:
This bedroom sleeps two. Furnished with single bunk beds, it is
ideal for young people. For peace of mind, and as a safety precaution,
we have fitted a safety lock and separate key to the window. The
room is modern and tastefully decorated with pine furniture and
the original beams add to the character of the room.
Bedroom 3:
Our Cream Room is elegant and peaceful. With lovely coffee and cream-coloured
décor and stylish furnishings, it is popular with many of
our guests and the original barn wall, which is an attractive feature,
adds to the rooms overall ambience.
Conveniently situated next to the shower room and
Snug, the Cream Room is an ideal choice for the less mobile, and
it is also a favourite with the youngsters who like to 'chill' here.
Snug: This
funky space is really popular with old and young alike.
It is a place to chill and relax, and as a self-contained facility,
it is suitable for the less mobile. Decorated in a modern style,
it is centrally placed between the en-suite shower room and the
Cream Bedroom. It has a sofa-bed which sleeps another two guests
if required.
Garden:
One of Sunnybrook's best features is its garden. Visitor's can just
walk across the gravel drive and down a few steps to find a garden
which is quiet and relaxing.
The garden is a wonderful area for children too.
With a selection of garden games housed in the lower garage, families
can enjoy a game of badminton, boules, bat and ball, frisbee, and
hoopla, and there is a dart board too, or why not have a good old-fashioned
game of 'hide and seek'. Guests can end their day of activities
by enjoying a barbeque, which is housed in the lower garage.
Location
Local amenities are a convenient two minute drive
away, with Barnstaple Town Centre just three miles down the road.
Sunnybrook is also within easy reach of North Devons spectacular
coastline, where visitors can explore long sandy beaches, rocky
coves, gardens, and beautiful cliff tops. Four miles towards Bideford
is the pretty seaside village of Instow and its neighbour Appledore
is just a short drive away, but if you enjoy the more wild and rugged
coastal landscape, the Hartland Peninsula a few miles further along
the coast is breathtaking and well-worth a visit. For lovers of
surf and sand visitors can explore Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and
Putsborough which are all within 13 miles of Sunnybrook.
As well as enjoying Exmoors
beautiful landscape, families can discover historic houses,
gardens, museums, and of course there is the Tarka
Trail on the doorstep, which offers safe walking and
cycling. With golf courses, horse-riding, falconry and water sports
all within easy reach, as well as an excellent choice of pubs and
restaurants, Sunnybrook is in an ideal location for a holiday to
suit all the family.
