The Barley House is a stylish and relaxed guest house in the heart of the South Hams. Our aim is to provide four star quality for visitors who want comfortable, contemporary interiors and quality breakfasts, in a peaceful setting.

The Barley House is one of three barns where the farm horses where stabled on the ground floor while barley was stored upstairs.

The horses were used to haul stone from a nearby quarry, some of which went into the construction of the barn.

ACCOMMODATION

There are two rooms available.

One has a six foot double bed with en-suite shower/wc and freesat tv. The bed can be converted from a six foot double to two three foot singles for stays of 4 or more days. This room is £75 £80 per night including breakfast.

The second has a standard sized double and a private (but not en-suite) bathroom with spa bath/shower, tv and costs £65 per night.

Both rooms have wifi internet access and tea/coffee making facilities

LOCATION

The Barley House is situated in the South Hams village of East Charleton, midway between Dartmouth and Salcombe and just 2 miles from the ancient market town of Kingsbridge at the head of the Salcombe Estuary.

This area of Devon with coast, countryside and moor has something for every taste and is uniquely beautiful with the majority of the area designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
