Set
in two acres of grounds, with the most wonderful views of the sea and
coastline, the Cottage Hotel enjoys a magnificent position in this pretty
and secluded Devon fishing village. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing
and the quiet gardens descend to the beach making it convenient to bathe
in safety from the hotel. You will find comfortable lounges; glorious
views from the sun terraces, and a style of service you thought had disappeared
forever. We have an excellent reputation for food and wine, very well
appointed accommodation and parking for fifty cars. The same standard
of traditional hospitality has been offered since 1973. Your children
and dogs are very welcome.
Along
this rugged Heritage Coastline there are miles of delightful and varied
scenery. The area around Hope Cove is renowned for its unique flora and
fauna, including the nature reserve at Slapton Ley, and for its interesting
walks to coves, sands and spectacular viewpoints.
The historic cities of Plymouth and Exeter, the resorts
of Torbay and the wild expanses of Dartmoor are about an hour's drive
away. Hope Cove is within easy reach of several local golf courses (we
have special concessions at Bigbury Golf Course), tennis courts, riding
and fishing (from the shore or boat). It is ideal for sailing your own
boat, with an open beach, a slipway and parking for your trailer in our
car park. The market town of Kingsbridge and the estuary resort town of
Salcombe are both within 15 minutes drive.
