Rooms with a frontal aspect still enjoy interesting views towards Budleigh salterton – and all enjoy tremendous peace. They are comfortably appointed with well-stocked refreshment trays, remote-control colour televisions, alarm clock/radios, hairdryers and adjustable radiators. The individually planned six double/twin or king rooms are all en suite, with either bath or shower. The cosy single room, which enjoys the spectacular views, has a private power shower and loo. Beds are made up with duvets, but we will be happy to provide sheets and blankets if requested in advance.

The Long Range Hotel is the longest established hotel in Budleigh Salterton, just a five minute gentle walk from the sea and picturesque Otter Valley, with a fifteen minute walk or five minute drive to the high street.

Enjoy the cosy sitting room (with daily and local newspapers, and sofas plush enough to fall asleep in!) which creates a cocoon-like comfort zone especially on cold, miserable days. For an establishment of our size to be awarded an RAC Dining Award is quite a rare occurrence we are told, so we are very proud of this accolade. It indicates above-average, carefully prepared food using fresh ingredients. Its prerequisite is an enthusiastically created menu, complemented by the wine list, service and total dining experience. Above and beyond this, we choose to use locally produced ingredients as often as possible.

Dinner is a table d’hote affair ranging from two to four courses. The style of the dinner menu is based on quality English cuisine using fresh West Country produce, prepared with care and attention and incorporating flavours to stimulate the taste buds. Lunch is served on Sundays only, and comprises a traditional roast with other choices. At any meal, vegetarians are well catered for and special diet requirements will happily be taken into consideration.
