You will find us situated centrally but in a peaceful area of the mediaeval town of Colyton, nestled in the Axe Valley, East Devon. The town is situated less than 5 miles from Lyme Regis and 9 miles from the Regency Coastal town of Sidmouth.

The area has proved itself to be excellent base, sitting on the border of three counties East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset, with Exeter, Torquay, Dartmoor and South Devon all within an hours drive to the West, with Dorchester and the Dorset coast to the East.

Colyton is three miles from Seaton, a gateway town to the Natural World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and from quaint villages such as Beer and Branscombe.

Walkers and Cyclists frequent the area due to the proximity of the South West Coastal Path, East Devon Way and Stop Line Way Cycle Path which pass through the Axe Valley.

Restored Electric Trams run from Colyton to Seaton along the Axe Estuary Nature Reserve and the wetlands area, creating a haven for bird watchers in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Colyton itself, has many historic features i.e. the Church of St. Andrews with it's "lantern tower" - one of only three in the country and the only remaining working tannery in England.

Apart from fossil hunting in well-known areas i.e. Lyme Regis and Charmouth, the area is also a haven for Antique hunters, artists, photographers, sight seeing tours, beach goers, golfers and sailors, with fantastic facilities set in beautiful unspoiled countryside.

Visitors who discover this quaint, picturesque area find it relaxing, intriguing and welcoming and most seem to return time after time.
