North Sands

- located to the south of Salcombe towards Bolt Head, adjacent to the ruins of fort Charles - Salcombe Castle. A small beach with fine golden sands. The beach has limited parking, a shop and café.

South Sands and Splat Cove

- Just south of North Sands and slightly further away from Salcombe is the appropriately named beach of South Sands.

A sandy beach with fine sands. The beach has a shop, café and local pub, but again has limited parking available. South Sands has water sports equipment hire.

A ferry is available to take you across the estuary to one of the beaches on the other side of the bay.

Millbay

- a sandy beach on the opposite bank of he river, across the narrow neck of the estuary. Millbay has fine sands. The beach is accessible by car and has a small car par or by passenger ferry from Salcombe.

The beach at Millbay is privately owned. Sailing dinghies may only be parked above High Water mark with prior permission from:
Miss S Tyler, Smalls, East Portlemouth, Salcombe. Tel. 01548 842356. No outboards or road trailers to be left on the beach.

East Portlemouth

A picturesque village that faces Salcombe from across the estuary. This waterside village has stunning views of Dartmoor and coastal vistas. The village has a sandy beach with parking, shop, café and toilets.
