Great TorringtonSituated high on a hill overlookinge the deeply wooded valleys of the river Torridge, at the very heart of 'Tarka Country', this ancient market town is home to world famous Dartington Crystal glass and a nationally renowned garden - RHS Rosemoor.

A short distance from Torrington are Rosemoor Gardens. Originally eight acres of garden created by Lady Anne Barry around her home - in 1988, she donated the land along with a further 32 acres to the Royal Horticultural Society. A national garden has been quickly created in this tranquil sheltered valley. There are two rose gardens, which contain over 2,000 individual specimens in 200 varieties, herbaceous borders, themed gardens, herb gardens and extensive water and bog gardens. There is a visitor centre, along with restaurant and shop.
