Woodside Cottage offers luxury en suite bed and breakfast ( B&B ) accommodation just outside the village of Blackawton, very close to the picturesque deep river port of Dartmouth in South Devon.

Originally the gamekeeper's lodge for the Oldstone estate in the 18th Century, Woodside Cottage has now been transformed into an exceptionally comfortable and attractive home of great character.

Reached down a quiet country lane just off the main road to Dartmouth, it is ideally placed for easy access to the whole of this beautiful area, to Dartmoor beyond, or directly to Plymouth and East Cornwall via the Tamar Bridge.

The present owners, who used to grow clematis professionally, are realising the potential of the gardens by imaginative mixed planting within the fine old drystone terraces and the creation of an exciting new woodland garden. On one level is a large stone patio from which the whole magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed.

A warm welcome, starting with tea and home-made cake, awaits those seeking genuine hospitality in a special part of the country where traditions have not greatly changed.

Open all year except Christmas but also closed occasionally for winter refurbishment.
